I love L’Occitane products.  They’re so luxurious and I am always going back to get more.  This summer I wanted to try out their perfumes and now I am hooked! The scents are beautiful and long lasting, it’s crazy not try them out.  Last month I was invited by L’Occitane to check out their winter collection at a launch at The Domain Hotel.  We got to learn more about the products, view the whole collection, have a fun craft session  and gifted some of the items. I am very very sad to say that unfortunately after all the INGLOT O2M madness, that it turned out not to be quite what it seemed.  I am gutted! It may sound a tad dramatic, but I as soo excited to finally be able to wear nailpolish without worrying about my salaaat.  I was totally convinced by what they marketed and said how it is created from a polymer similar to contact lenses; so to me it made complete sense. I wore it for months without a flinch and now I feel awful.  I didn’t even consider testing it, until I started to notice others testing it and it was coming up negative.  I wanted to believe so bad that for me it would work, which is why I didn’t do an itty bitty patch test but a massive patch and put a lot of water and massaged it in for a while etc.. (maybe if I get the time I will post my own test online) but sadly it didn’t pass the test at all! In hindsight I should have tested it before buying a massive stock of O2M.. oh well.. Pure Spa Reception

I was invited the other day by Kempinski to try one of their massages.  I chose their signature massage called Bio-harmonising Aroma Massage which was lasted an hour of relaxing bliss.  The massage is perfect if you’re looking to unwind, relax, recharge. The infusion of the aromatherapy oils uplift your mood and make you feel balanced.  That was exactly what I needed!! A well over due pampering session and I couldn’t have been happier.  The minute you step into the reception area of the spa, you immediately leave your stress in the elevator and welcome the tranquility and peace of your surroundings.  The beauty of the Kempinski spa is that it is in Bahrain City Center.  You can shop, have a spa time with a friend and then go have dinner and catch a movie; all without even leaving the vicinity.   Read the rest of this entry »

There is nothing more I love than supporting a local brand that is really good at what they do!! Lave Affair is a husband and wife business who make natural soaps, lotion bars, salts scrubs and some more.  The brand came about when the couple could not find a solution to dry, cracked skin.  None of the over the counter and drug store products were helping and that’s when they turned to a natural solution.  I had heard of Lave affair and with my love for all things natural I couldn’t wait to try their products.  Was it telepathy when Huda rang me saying she had a box of goodies for me.. I don’t know.. I’m just thankful for having been introduced to this lovely brand. Read the rest of this entry »

I was invited to attend The Body Shop’s redesigned store and try out their browsing experience.  The Body Shop has launched a new beauty movement called ‘Beauty With Heart’.  Each of their branches are the pulses and their aim is to encourage a Look Good, Feel Good and Do Good mindset by using their products.  Model Lily Cole is the face of this movement as she herself is a young aspiring activist.  As the three G’s suggest; The Body Shop products are much more than just products that make you feel good. You know that by buying their products you are helping communities and women around the world through their Community Fair trade programs, campaigns, animal welfare and protecting mother earth. When I was a teenager I used to help out and work at The Body Shop and popping into the store brought back some fond memories.  I loved their new layout.  It felt organic, raw and earthy.  They have introduced tables in the center displaying their products which encourage you to ‘browse’ ‘test’ and ‘sample’ their stuff.  There are little empty sample pots on hand to fill and try out the product at home before purchasing! I took home 2 sample pots; the tea tree face mask and the tea tree liquid face wash.  The place was buzzing and I got to bump into my favorite fellow bloggers; which always calls for a quick photo session 😉

Pop into The Body Shop near you, have a browse and grab some sample pots .. the best way to try

I attended a basic make up course a while back by The Makeup Manual guru Mai Almoayed.  This is a must workshop for all girls.  Even if you know a thing or two about makeup and how to apply, you will still leave with a wealth of knowledge! The amount of hand written notes I jotted down was pages long.  She goes through the complete basics, pre application, explanation of brushes, tips of the trade and so much more.  Makeup Forever has a stand at her place where we got to purchase products and have her guide us with exactly what is suitable for our skin, tone and matching the right foundation colour.  I am really looking forward to taking her advance class and this girl is always fully booked mashallah!! Her classes tend to be over full (limited no. of seats per class) and theres a waiting a list.

Now here’s the good news for all you Dubaian chicas; The Makeup Manual is coming to Dubai!! Don’t miss this opportunity she’s not only talented but a real sweetheart.  Follow her on @themakeupmanual and if you have any makeup related questions she always tries her best to answer her followers as prompt as she can.

The Makeup Manual coming to Dubai soon.. stay tuned for dates.

We are finally getting whisps of cooler weather and all you want to do is be outdoors and make the most of it.  Theres only one more week to go for Market 338 in Adliya!! One week of all you can get outdoor entertainment, music, shopping and art! They have recreated the 338 park and the little market is just adorbale! I have my products available at the La Bouique 92 pop up store there.  You can check out some of my clothing, wraps & tops and even my baby line Babym at the pop up store with exclusive gorgeous shopping cart covers & chalkboard fabric roll ups.  It’s definitly worth going down to check out the vendors, have a cup of karak while watching a performace.  Theres a lovely little make shift kiddie sand pit park recreated in the middle of the 338 park and the ambience is exhilarating.
