River Island Drape Trouser In Floral Print

River Island Drape Trouser In Floral Print

Nothing says spring like flowers! If you thought flowers were just prints on fabric, you’re wrong they represent life, femininity, breath of fresh air, new beginnings and happiness.  A bit too much philosophy first thing in the morning especially when we’re talking about clothes here.  I went a little floral mad whilst browsing through ASOS (more ASOS picks to follow) but I love every single on of these items and am adding some to my shopping cart as I type this blogpost.  All items picked can easily be modestified by wearing with jeans, cardis, drop top hemmed shirts and more.  You will start notice my obsession with peg trousers.. just can’t seem to get enough of them .. sigh

Have you stepped into the Spring spirit? Which pick/picks below is your favorite?

Indria Miranda is from Jakarta, Indonesia; a place I am dying to visit! She started her label Ria miranda back in 2007 focusing on designing clothes from muslim women.  Her designs have modesty in mind mixed with beautiful fabric and drapery. lasting design and daily wear products with detail and quality maintained.

I keep coming across her designs and love the simplicity, clean lines and flow of her clothing. I get so happy when I come across designers who target our needs. Now all I need to do is get to Indonesia!! One day … one day .. sigh ..

You can follow her on instagram @riamiranda

We are finally getting whisps of cooler weather and all you want to do is be outdoors and make the most of it.  Theres only one more week to go for Market 338 in Adliya!! One week of all you can get outdoor entertainment, music, shopping and art! They have recreated the 338 park and the little market is just adorbale! I have my products available at the La Bouique 92 pop up store there.  You can check out some of my clothing, wraps & tops and even my baby line Babym at the pop up store with exclusive gorgeous shopping cart covers & chalkboard fabric roll ups.  It’s definitly worth going down to check out the vendors, have a cup of karak while watching a performace.  Theres a lovely little make shift kiddie sand pit park recreated in the middle of the 338 park and the ambience is exhilarating. If you haven’t been already, GO! before you miss out on this lovely event.

The traditional black abaya has transformed into many things which some may even question whether that is what an abaya is meant to represent.  That is a whole different blog post in itself.  The one thing that I think is crazy is the colour!! To some I may be “rebelling” but i’m going to say it anyways.. BLACK? seriously? especially in our climate!! Our men get to wear white  and stay cool while we culturally remain to wear black.  Isn’t it about time we bring in some colour? Black is beautiful and all yes..but I have always thought it would be lovely to see the abaya in different shades.

Below are some images from Inayah’s abaya collection.  Here is a modest start of something fresh (they like kaftan/dresses).  These particular ones have sheer sleeves which would obviously have to be changed and they are very simple.  We have some great abaya designers which I am sure can come up with some stunning elaborate styles.  I think it just takes a few people to start wearing them for it to hit on .. just like when no one wore coloured hejabs and now they do.

Just a thought.. what do you guys think?

“Growing up, my grandmother used to tell me about how in her day, a beautiful girl was nicknamed Qumar 14. This collection was made for the effortlessly chic girl with pieces that transition from a family gathering to a night with the girls.” Qumar 14

I am falling in LOVE with Kuwait and their awesome talented brands! Check out this lovely brand of female bishts, don’t you just have to have one!!!! I love the colours and details that go into them and a very cool alternative to an abaya!
