Lili.aiya is a new Dubai based label that has only just launched it’s first collection but is looking very promising indeed.  The first A/W13 collection focuses on simple, functional and electrifying shirt dresses.  These dresses are perfect for the woman who wants to dress modestly, as you can ideally pair them with black leggings or jeans without the hassle of all the layering.  The shirts can be worn during the day or dressed up with statement necklaces and worn at night and are very versatile.  “It is a fresh mixture of culture and modernity, catering to the needs of the multi-culti women that we all are. The pieces created offer a unique fusion of respect for traditions with a fashionable approach seen in energetic color elements and beautiful fits.”

Sheikha Al Mayassa, a patron of artists, storytellers and filmmakers in Qatar, talks about how art and culture create a country’s identity — and allow every country to share its unique identity with the wider world. As she says: “We don’t want to be all the same, but we do want to understand each other.”

The DFI commissioned exhibit is a celebratory work of Arab filmmakers and talent by world-renowned photographer Brigitte Lacombe and her documentarian sister Marian Lacombe. The sisters spent three months travelling across the Middle East and the world to capture intimate portraits of the region’s most emerging and established names in cinema.

A state visit to the UK  and Qatar’s Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned looks absolutely stunning! The Sheikha definitly knows how to work it! Sharp clean sophisticated lines, matching gloves, handbags and belts all in monochromatic colors. Not to mention the hot “Hepburn” sunnies!!

No wonder she hit vanity fair’s best dressed list 2009 and definitely knocked out model/singer turned first lady of France Carla Bruni in Paris.
